Joe Cannon, DVM
Joe grew up in the Green’s Creek Community, two miles from Green’s Creek Veterinary Hospital. After graduation at Dublin High School, he attended and graduated Tarleton State University. Following his dream, Joe then graduated the prestigious Texas A&M University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a one year internship at University of California, at Davis, in large animal medicine, primarily equine medicine. Dr. Cannon then worked at a mixed animal practice in Loma Linda, California for one year. He then completed a one year residency in Equine Reproduction on a thoroughbred farm in Cino, California.
After moving back to Texas, Joe was the resident veterinarian for Lion Country Safari in Grand Prairie, Texas for eight years. During this time he built and operated Parkway Animal Hospital, a mixed animal practice for over 20 years. Dr. Cannon has participated in extensive race track work at Remington Park, Trinity Meadows, and Lone Star Park over the last 25 years. Joe, and his wife, Sharyn, decided it was time to come “home”, and built Green’s Creek Veterinary Hospital in 2012. Dr. Cannon specializes in diagnostics, internal medicine and surgery on all species of animals. Some of his hobbies include; hiking, biking, and trout fishing.
Aaron Lide, DVM
Aaron is from Odessa, Texas, and is the son of a veterinarian. His mother instilled him and his three sisters a passion for horses and rodeo. He has been involved in rodeo from a young age, and he rode and started cutting horses during high school and college. Aaron began his college education at Odessa College and later graduated from Texas A&M University with his Bachelors of Science in 2011. He graduated from Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine with his DVM in 2015. He then joined our team at Green’s Creek Veterinary Hospital in June of 2015. Aaron is married, he and his wife have a son, four horses, two dogs, and one cat.
Cody L. Pike, EDP
Cody had a love and passion for horses from a very young age. He spent many hours on horseback at his grandparent’s ranch checking fence and cattle. He pursued his passion while attending Tarleton State University, working with several local veterinarians. He also attended several classes with the Academy of Equine Dentistry. Cody started his dental practice in 2002, building off of the many referrals from veterinarians and friends. Cody’s growing family of clients allows him to keep busy, seeing 50 + horses per month. Cody is licensed by the Texas Veterinary Medical Board (LIC #36), member and certified by the International Association of Equine Dentistry, member of the American Association of Equine Dentistry, member of the American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians, member of the USTRC, and member of the NCHA. Cody has three wonderful children; Braydan-10, Carolyn-8, and Heather-6. The kids love horses and going on farm calls with their dad when not in school. Cody and the kids spend a lot of time outdoors, with and without the horses, from the mountains of Colorado to the Gulf Coast Beach.
Jan Henderson, Grooming Specialist
Jan is a groomer with over 40 years of experience. She has extensive knowledge and experience on many breed standards, as well as hand scissoring Techniques on poodles and Bishons, with a touch of Show grooming. Using only natural and safe shampoos, and moisturizers, she brightens all coats to give them that dazzling or even platinum look that can last six months. Jan’s love for animals carries into all aspects of her life. She offers free puppy training classes at Green’s Creek Veterinary Hospital, because she knows the importance of proper training of both the pups and owners at all ages! Jan has 3 standard poodles, Buddy, Bambie, and Bubbles.
